Ambassador Franchetti Pardo: Genoa is a paragon of conference tourism
Luca Franchetti Pardo, the Italian Ambassador to Poland, hosted the event “Genoa: Events and Conferences between Sea, History, and Innovation” at the Italian Embassy in Warsaw. The event was dedicated to promoting Genoa as an international tourist destination and a key hub for conferences and business events.
“Poland is today one of Italy’s most dynamic partners,” the ambassador noted in his opening remarks, “with trade exceeding €36 billion in 2025.” He then emphasized how Genoa represents “an example in the conference tourism sector,” thanks to its ability to combine modern infrastructure, hospitality, cultural offerings, and Ligurian culinary tradition.
Tourism Councilor Tiziana Beghin emphasized the city’s commitment to developing conference tourism and international events as a lever for economic growth and regional promotion.
The initiative was organized in collaboration with AICE Poland, the Municipality of Genoa, the Genoa Convention Bureau, Genoa Airport, and Agenzia ICE Polonia.
The event was also attended by Ilaria Alzona, President of the Genoa Convention Bureau; Francesco D’Amico, General Director of Genoa Airport; Franco Aprile, President of Aice Poland; and Iwona Lotysz, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
